Art Museum
2014
At the beginning of this project, a collection of artifacts were designed and made from used household items. In the process of reconstruction, these items were infused with liveliness and reborn into art pieces that are both intriguing and entertaining. Then an enclosure was designed for each artifact to reinforce its liveliness. The spatial configurations were then transformed into more organic and dynamic counterparts.
To exhibit the artifacts with their spatial configurations, a museum was designed to have different exhibition halls. The arrangement of the exhibition halls were derived from 3D Voronoi pattern, with the artifacts being the seeds. A continuous ramp strings the halls together to create a journey for the visitors, whose flowing movement becomes a lively exhibition. It is a place where static pieces of art are vitalized by dynamic motions.
